Jungle in the city.
Semnopithecus entellus (Dufresne, 1797)
Hanuman Langur.
A family of Hanuman Langurs, well adapted to the city.
To religious Hindus - that means to a majority of the Indian population - langurs are holy and sacrosanct. No Indian of Hindu religion would chase one away. Regarded as closely related fellow individuals on earth, hanuman langurs usually stay close to human settlements where they are treated with benevolent respect by their human relatives.
