Northern Palm Squirrel Funambulus pennantii (Wroughton, 1905) A rodent of the Sciuridae family, the Northern Palm Squirrel is a native of Afghanistan, India, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan. Today it is considered to be a threatened species. Not very shy, and quite noisy, these squirrels have been frequent sights in some of the greens of New Delhi, and in the gardens of Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh.
